Difference Between Industrial Socket and Civilian Socket
Industrial sockets and civilian sockets differ primarily in their appearance. A common saying goes, “Use the right cover for the right socket.” High-power appliances often utilize cylindrical industrial plugs, which correspondingly require round industrial sockets. In contrast, civilian sockets, also known as national standard sockets, feature a flat copper material. Industrial sockets typically use round copper materials and are designed with more connection points, commonly supporting three-phase four-wire or three-phase five-wire configurations.
Another key difference lies in their waterproof requirements. Industrial sockets are often used outdoors and must withstand various weather conditions, including rain and snow. To ensure reliable operation in such environments, electrical equipment must be waterproof, with ratings like IP44 or IP67.
Additionally, the materials used in industrial sockets differ significantly. The cables associated with industrial sockets often consist of specialized rubber cables, which are flexible and easy to move. These cables feature a rubber outer layer and sheath, allowing them to function effectively in extreme temperatures, ranging from -50°C to 65°C. In contrast, standard cables for civilian use are only rated for temperatures between -15°C and 50°C.
